Alex Ricker-Gilbert

Alex Ricker-Gilbert is an exceptionally knowledgeable and successful sports administrator passionate about kinesiology and athletics. From Tolland, Connecticut, he attended Pennsylvania State University in 2005, gaining his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. This field of study focuses on human movement and incorporates anatomy, biomechanics, neuropsychology, pathology and physiology principles. After earning his degree at Penn State University, Ricker-Gilbert returned to academe for further studies in sports management at the West Chester University of Pennsylvania and finished with a master’s degree in sports management, athletics, and public administration in 2011. West Chester’s program is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, which provides a comprehensive education for its students.
In 2017, with a wealth of knowledge and prior success behind him, he began studying business administration at Jacksonville University, -a private liberal arts university in Jacksonville, Florida-. With an MBA gained in 2020 under his belt, he continues as Jacksonville’s senior vice president and director of the athletics department. The athletic teams known as “the Dolphins” play competitively within the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) framework while affiliated with the ASUN Conference and Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). His extraordinary work promoted him to be named Athletics Director of the Year by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics, which recognizes highly efficient administrative personnel among USA universities’ athletic directors. He has been managing several departments, such as Hall of Fame recognition programs, boosters engagement initiatives, and its enterprise risk oversight for the entire athletics system, including compliance and student-athlete services divisions.
